Mental Health Practice – Roots Autism Solutions

Roots Autism Solutions operates therapeutic academies providing comprehensive autism intervention services across the Chicagoland area of Illinois. The organization maintains three center locations: 160 Lexington Drive, Suite B, in Buffalo Grove; 970 East Oak Street in Lake in the Hills; and 536 Atrium Drive, Suite 400, in Vernon Hills. Center-based services are directed toward children from ages 18 months through 12 years.

Core services include center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and social-emotional support programs. The Therapeutic Academy functions as a dedicated school readiness program for children ages 18 months through 6 years, structured to help them build the foundational skills needed for transitions into Illinois public school environments. The academy operates in a therapeutic preschool and kindergarten setting. Saturday social skills groups and weekend sessions are also available alongside standard weekday programming.

Additional offerings include community-based ABA therapy delivered in home and community settings, parent and family coaching with dedicated support groups, IEP development and school advocacy services, community integration activities, and organized community outings and events for participating children and families. The organization employs board-certified behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. Neuropsychological evaluations are coordinated through a formal partnership with the Dirksen Center for Neurobehavioral Health.

The practice places a stated emphasis on cultural competence and provides translation services to support families from diverse language and cultural backgrounds. Each child’s programming is described as personalized and individualized, with families working directly alongside the clinical team across all stages of goal-setting and progress review throughout the child’s autism journey. The organization’s three Chicagoland centers are positioned to serve families across Lake County and Cook County suburbs, with service delivery available both at centers and in clients’ natural home and community environments.
